Engineered stone is a composite material made of crushed stone, bound together using an adhesive. Here at Instone Marble, we specialize in quartz and porcelain. Quartz, which has the appearance of a natural stone, is much more durable, and less easily chipped or damaged. Porcelain comes in an endless variety of colors, patterns, and finishes, and is very strong as well. In fact, it is 30% stronger than granite!
Although you won’t get some of the exclusive properties of natural stone, using engineered stone can be better for lifestyles that require durability, as it is less porous, more flexible, and harder than many of the natural stones.
